Autism Funding Unit

Parents should apply for funding once their child has an assessment and diagnosis.

Make an appointment to meet with a Children & Youth support needs worker.

Bring all the necessary documents to the meeting:

Documentation of Autism Diagnosis

proof that the child is under age 18 (birth certificate)

Children under 6 receive up to $22,000
-
Children 6-18 receive up to $6,000
-
Current BC Services Card/ Driver's Licence as proof of residency.
4. The CYSN worker will review the necessary documents and
discuss eligibility for funding and family support services.
5. After reviewing the documents, the CYSN worker will help
apply for funding.
6. Signing the funding agreement

Parents or guardians will receive two copies of an Autism Funding Agreement in the mail.

Both copies must be signed and returned to the Autism Funding Program within two weeks.
7. Hire Service providers or purchase other types of support
8. Parents or guardians will receive a letter outlining the following:

How much funding they're qualified for

and the funding dates, usually your child's birth month.
9. They can start using their funding for:

Services, support, or therapy
-
Equipment or supplies
-
Training
-
Travel
