Parental Rights
According to the "School act," parents have the right:
* to be informed of a students behavior, attendance and progress in school,
* receive information on request, about the school education plan for their child.
* to belong to the parents' advisory council,
* volunteer services , subject to rules and regulations of the board,
* examine the student file in the presence of the principal or Learning resources coordinator.
* receive a copy of IEP or student record pertaining to their student ,​
* to file an appeal with the school board decision which significantly affects the education, health or safety of a student. - to be done within a reasonable time frame from when the parent or student was informed of the decision

Parental Responsibilites
According to the "School act," the parents' responsibilities are:
* to register the student on or before September 30 of each year at a school of the parents' choosing.
* parents must consult with the school personnel about the student's individualized education - when requested by the school.
